HYDROGEN ROAD TOUR ’08 STOPS IN CHATTANOOGA

Monday August 18th 10:00 AM -12:00
First Tennessee Pavilion

1826 Carter Street
Chattanooga, TN 37408

Is hydrogen the fuel of the future, or is it destined to remain an untapped source of clean energy? Volkswagen and 8 other major automobile manufactures believe it’s the former and are out on a mission to prove it! On August 11th, hydrogen vehicles from 9 automobile manufactures left Portland, Maine on a carbon-free mission to reach the west coast. Along the way they will stop in 31 cities to promote hydrogen’s role in the Nation’s transportation future. On Monday, August 18th the tour stops in Chattanooga. Join members of the Chattanooga Green Committee, the Center for Transportation & Environment, fellow city residents and hydrogen fuel experts as we try to de-mystify transportation’s “hydrogen future.”

Is drinkable water truly the only emissions of these vehicles?
Are there sufficient numbers of hydrogen fueling stations in the United States?
How is hydrogen fuel created?
Is it safe?
Is the technology expensive?
Are there any environmental side effects?

On site will be hydrogen vehicles from BMW, Daimler, Ford, GM, Honda, Hyundai-Kia, Nissan, Toyota, and Volkswagen
